‘Chawton vine’ Bone china mug & NotebookFeaturing the beautiful 'Chawton Vine' wallpaper design from the Drawing Room in Jane Austen's House. A fragment of this paper was discovered during essential works in the House and has been recreated using traditional techniques by Hamilton Weston.
The ‘Chawton Vine’ wallpaper, which covers the Drawing Room in the House, was put up in 2017 as part of the Jane Austen 200th Anniversary celebrations that year. It is an exact replica of the Regency wallpaper that was discovered in the room, and has been dated to around 1805.
The beautiful yellow vine leaf design is timeless and feels as fresh and summery today as it would have done when the Austens lived in the House. This design was the first of three replica wallpapers to be recreated for Jane Austen’s House by historic wallpaper specialists Hamilton Weston.
This bone china mug and notebook depicting the pattern make a wonderful gift, either to yourself or for any Jane Austen fan.
The mug comes boxed (as pictured). Sold as a set with the A5 notebook.
