This very special virtual tour uses objects from our collection and the House itself to examine and celebrate Jane Austen’s beautiful autumnal novel Persuasion.
Following in Jane’s footsteps, you’ll discover the rooms where Jane wrote Persuasion in 1815-1816 – the last of her novels to be completed before her death in 1817.
Moving from room to room, you’ll discover how the House itself can help us understand the novel better, and objects in the collection that help the story come to life.
This light-hearted and enjoyable event uses our beautiful virtual tour to tease out stories and objects that relate to Jane Austen’s classic work, and offers the opportunity to enjoy, examine and discuss Persuasion, and to experience Jane Austen’s House in a new way.
