Join us for a special virtual guided tour of Jane Austen’s House, following in Jane Austen’s footsteps and discovering the house she knew and loved, whilst learning about her life here in Chawton and her extraordinary legacy.

Led by an expert guide, you’ll learn about Jane’s life here in Hampshire and discover precious objects from her life, including her tiny writing table, the topaz crosses that inspired Mansfield Park, and rare first editions of her novels. This unique tour of the House will also explore aspects of Jane Austen’s legacy, using objects from the collection to set the scene.

Moving from room to room, you’ll discover how the House itself can help us understand her life and works better, and objects in the collection that help the story come to life.

This light-hearted and enjoyable event uses our beautiful virtual tour, teases out stories and objects that relate to Jane Austen’s novels, and offers the opportunity to enjoy, examine and discuss her life and legacy, and to experience Jane Austen’s House in a new way.
