When will Jane Austen’s House reopen?

Jane Austen’s House is reopening on Wednesday 19th May!  All tickets must be pre-booked and are on sale now! Book tickets here.

 

Which days will you be open?

We will be open four days a week, Wednesday – Sunday, and Bank Holiday Mondays, from 10am to 4.30pm.

 

Will I need to book tickets in advance?

Yes, tickets must be pre-booked via our website.

 

Can I visit as part of a group?

Yes.  We have revised our group booking policy for the remainder of 2021 to best manage the site and ensure every visitor enjoys their time at Jane Austen’s home. Please visit our dedicated Groups page to view our 2021 Group Visit Policy and to find out more about visiting as a group.

 

 

Is there somewhere nearby for refreshments?

You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy in Jane Austen’s garden and we now sell ice creams!

There are three dining options available in the village; both Cassandra’s Cup and The Greyfriar Pub are opposite Jane Austen’s House and The Old Kitchen Tearoom at Chawton House is just a short walk away. Please check their websites for opening times and details of their current services.

Where can I park?

​Free parking is provided in the public car park opposite the House beyond the pub car park.

 

Do you offer concessions?

Is Jane Austen’s House accessible?

Jane Austen’s House is a historic property with low doorways and uneven surfaces underfoot. The ground floor and outbuildings are fully accessible and we have an accessible WC with baby changing facilities. Unfortunately, the upstairs of the main house is currently only accessible by climbing a historic wooden staircase although the upstairs can now be viewed virtually via our 360° virtual tour.

Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the House.

 

I have booked an online event.  When will I receive my link to join?

We offer our online events through Zoom. We will send the link to the email address you used to purchase your tickets no more than 24 hours before the day of the event. These links must not be shared with anyone who has not purchased a ticket.

 

I am attending an online event but I haven’t received my link to join yet.

A link will be sent to the email address you used to purchase your ticket no more than 24 hours before the day of the event.  If you haven’t received the email less than 24 hours before the event, please check your junk folder.  If you still haven’t received the link, please contact us on enquiries@janeaustens.house.
