Jane Austenā€™s House is dedicated to ensuring that all our visitors have the best experience possible.

As you walk through the House, following in Jane Austen’s footsteps, you will encounter stories, objects and displays relating to Jane Austen’s life, works and legacy. We want these stories to offer meaningful, engaging and inspiring experiences for all.

We are always looking at ways to improve our visitors’ experience of the House and outbuildings. This could mean changing some of the room settings, displays and text panels, and introducing new ways of sharing stories and information.

We promise we won’t lose any of the wonderful atmosphere or beauty of the House that you know and love, but we do want to make sure the stories we tell (and how we tell them) are the best they can be. We want to make the House accessible to all, bring the stories we are telling up to date, and make a visit to Jane Austen’s House the most magical it’s ever been – for everyone.

We would love you to play your part! By taking part in our short survey, you can tell us what you love, what you’d love to see, and what you think we could do better. Even if you’ve never visited the House before, you can tell us what you’d want to see and learn about on a future visit!

As a thank you for taking part, we’ll enter you in a prize draw to win free two tickets to visit Jane Austen’s House!
