Groups

Jane Austen's House is the perfect destination for a group visit and we are delighted to cater for groups of varying size and interest.

GROUP VISITS TO THE HOUSE

We are delighted to welcome pre-booked groups to Jane Austen’s House.  Groups can freely explore the home and garden that Jane knew and loved, uncovering the story of her life and times, and getting up-close to objects from our unparalleled Austen collection, including Jane’s writings, jewellery, and the little table at which she wrote.

During these difficult times, Jane Austen’s House is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all our visitors, staff and volunteers. We have revised our group booking policy for the remainder of 2021 to best manage the site and ensure every visitor enjoys their time at Jane Austen’s home. See below for our 2021 Group Visit Policy.

INFORMATION ON GROUP VISITS

All group visits must be pre-booked.  Please see our 2021 Group Visit Policy above for details.

If your group is planning a full day trip to the area you may also like to visit nearby Chawton House, Gilbert White’s House and even take a trip on the Watercress Line

Please note:

  • All visits to the House are self-guided with knowledgeable room stewards on hand to help and answer your questions.
  • Cassandra’s Cup Tea Room and The Greyfriar Pub are unconnected with Jane Austen’s House and if you wish to visit them as a group you will need to book with them separately.

BESPOKE VIRTUAL TOURS

We also offer bespoke virtual tours for groups. A virtual tour usually lasts one hour and can accommodate up to 50 people. Tours will be led by a member of staff who can answer questions and tailor the tour to suit your interests. Email us for more details.
