Creatives in Residence: March

In the third and final month of their Residency, Our Creatives in Residence Ellora Sutton and artist LĂ©na Gibert looked to the House itself for inspiration. Ellora’s poems look at the House as a cradle for Cassandra’s grief, after the death of her sister, and also explore her own experience of leading guided tours of the House today. Lena’s artwork takes a playful look at the House as a receptacle for children – both in Jane Austen’s day, when nieces and nephews would often descend on them for long visits, and today, when families and school groups visit the House.
