New Reimagine Resident: Jessie Beaumont

We're excited to launch our seventh Reimagine Resident! Jessie Beaumont is a self-taught paper artist specialising in flowers.

Jessie Beaumont is a self-taught paper artist specialising in flowers. Working under the name Leo Flowers, Jessie designs each piece to be a playful and impressionistic take on the real thing. Each petal is cut, shaped and coloured by hand in East London, and no two flowers are quite the same. Visit her website to see more of her beautiful creations!

Project:Ā Jessie will create a paper flower display reminiscent of the Regency era, but with a modern sensibility.

In June, Jessie visited Jane Austen’s House to view the garden in all its summer glory, and get inspiration for her display.

Long-time museum gardener Celia helped her to identify and select different flower varieties which are not only favourites of the museum visitors and staff, but likely to have been seen in the garden in Jane Austen’s time.

The display will include Jessie’s take on foxgloves, peonies, cornflowers, hydrangea, wild roses, poppies, geranium and campanula.

Jessie will be visiting the House again later in the autumn to install her flower display – we can’t wait to see it in situ!
