Reimagine Resident: audio installation

Ben’s audio installation is inspired by the relationship between Jane and her sister Cassandra, and the collection of letters between the pair which give us a fascinating insight into their life.

Drawing on these and other Austen texts – and using sounds mostly recorded on-site – Ben explores what we know of their time in the house, and how Jane’s legacy has evolved and been reinterpreted in the years since.

Visitors to the House can enjoy the installation until 24 September. Find it in the Legacy Area, at the end of the upstairs corridor.
