New Reimagine Resident: Rose Wilkinson
We're excited to launch our sixth Reimagine Resident! Rose Wilkinson is a London-based illustrator who will be creating a series of artworks inspired by Jane Austen's teenage story 'The beautifull Cassandra'Rose is an illustrator and art and design lecturer. She grew up in rural Herefordshire where her love for nature, science fiction and history blossomed. She has a first class degree in Illustration from Cardiff School of Art and Design and graduated from Camberwell College of Arts with a Masterās degree also in Illustration.
She has been working as an illustrator for the past five years and currently also works with Richmond Upon Thames College on a variety of Art and Design FE and HE courses, which enables her to share her passion for illustration with her students!
Originally Rose developed her style and skills with traditional mediums – watercolour, gouache and pencil – but she now also uses the magic of the iPad to create these illusionary effects. Whilst still embodying the soul and spontaneity of classical materials, this enables her to offer the same style of work in a way that can be easily and quickly changed and adapted for altering client needs.

About the project:
Rose’s project is focused on Jane Austen’s wild and wacky teenage writings. Using the House itself as inspiration, she will create a series of illustrations inspired by Jane’s short story The beautifull Cassandra that may be used in the form of a printed ‘zine’.
We’ll be printing copies and distributing them to our school groups – and some lucky visitors – in the autumn.
To get started, Rose visited the House to make some initial sketches…
Back in the studio, she experimented with printing techniques…
