Family fun
We love welcoming families at Jane Austen's House! To make family visits as relaxed and enjoyable as possible we have created a new families area, and a new family fun area online!Our Families Area is packed with activities for little ones (and not so little!) to enjoy. We know you’ll (ahem, they’ll) make a beeline for the bonnets and frocks, but once that inner fashionista is satisfied, keep them busy with miniature self-portraits and bonnet colouring.
If the sun shines, get into the garden and enjoy our traditional garden games, or relax on a picnic blanket with a book from our children’s book basket.

If you can’t make it to Chawton, you can still have a lot of Regency fun at home with our printable resources! Have a go at writing and folding your own Regency style letter, draw your own portrait miniature, design a fabulous bonnet and read a wonderful rhyming recipe!
