Join us for a virtual tour of our new permanent exhibition: Jane Austen and the Art of Writing. This exciting new exhibition opened at Jane Austen’s House in October, launching our 2025 programme. If you can’t visit in person, enjoy a virtual tour of the exhibition objects from the comfort of your own home!
Jane Austen and the Art of Writing celebrates Jane Austen as a ground-breaking and ambitious writer in the very house where she created her six beloved novels – directly linking Jane Austen’s creative process with the domestic space from which it came.
This virtual event will be led by the exhibition curator, who will introduce objects from the House’s extraordinary collection that help to celebrate Jane Austen’s creative genius and show how seriously she took her craft – from her earliest teenage writings to her adult novels. It will also cover objects that inspired her, books she read, literary techniques she pioneered, and her dealings with her publishers.
