Join us for an exclusive workshop led by our Festival Artist in Residence Niki Groom, in which you will design and hand paint your own Regency-inspired fan.
We’ll start with an introduction to watercolour painting, move on to planning out our designs and then finally we will paint beautiful decoration on to our fans.
The session is suitable for beginners and experts alike. Please feel free to bring along anything that might inspire your design, such as an old book or a swatch of fabric, or simply be inspired by your surroundings – the beautiful cottage garden or treasures on display in Jane Austen’s House itself. (N.B. Arrive early to explore the House and take photos to inform your design!)
Along the way, enjoy tea and biscuits to fuel your creativity!
