In this fascinating talk we’ll examine Jane’s life story in Hampshire – from her happy childhood in Steventon to the difficult years spent living in Bath and Southampton, the move here to Chawton, where her genius could finally flourish, and her final move to be near her doctor in Winchester.
We’ll share details of Jane’s writing life – from her wild teenage stories to her mature adult novels, inspirations and reading material. We’ll look at her relationships with publishers, her self-knowledge and belief in her work, and her extraordinary legacy.
