(Re)Writing History: An Online Workshop for Young Poets

Have you ever wanted to rewrite history, or leave your mark on the distant future? In this fun, relaxed Zoom workshop you’ll do just that. You’ll be interviewing moon clocks, calling up Henry VIII for a bit of a chat, and even writing history itself. The only thing you’ll need is a pen, some paper, and your imagination – no time machine required!

Whether a total poetry newcomer or a seasoned pro looking for an afternoon of inspired writing time, this workshop is perfect for poets aged 13-18.

Safeguarding:

This event is aimed at young people aged 13-18. All participants under 18 will need to have permission from a parent or guardian, consisting of a signed Online Learning Activities Consent Form, in order to attend the event. This will be emailed out in advance, and must be returned to us in order to confirm your place – so please do ensure you provide a valid email address on booking. 

Workshop leader

This workshop will be led by our current Writer in Residence, Ellora Sutton.

Ellora is a poet and MA student from Hampshire. She won the inaugural Poetry Society and Artlyst Art to Poetry Award, the 2019 Pre-Raphaelite Society poetry competition, and was shortlisted for the 2020 Bridport Prize. Her work has been published by Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal, fourteen poems, Eye Flash Poetry Journal and Poetry News, amongst others. Her debut chapbook, All the Shades of Grief, was published in 2020 by Nightingale & Sparrow.
