Creatives in Residence: September

In the final month of their residency, Stephanie and Cameron have created new works inspired by the Austen family quilt, and by a series of children’s books that reimagine Jane Austen’s novels for a young audience.

Cameron’s animation takes the Awesomely Austen series and animates the black and white line drawings. The result is a cheeky, charming animation filmed in his parents’ bookshop in Farnham.

Meanwhile Stephanie created a poem inspired by the Austen family patchwork coverlet, a favourite object which caught her eye on her first (virtual!) visit to the House.
