Creatives in Residence: March

In the third and final month of their Residency, Our Creatives in Residence Ellora Sutton and artist Léna Gibert looked to the House itself for inspiration. Ellora’s poems look at the House as a cradle for Cassandra’s grief, after the death of her sister, and also explore her own experience of leading guided tours of the House today. Lena’s artwork takes a playful look at the House as a receptacle for children – both in Jane Austen’s day, when nieces and nephews would often descend on them for long visits, and today, when families and school groups visit the House.
