On the very day of Jane Austen’s 250^th birthday, join us at her beloved home for a very special day of celebrations!

The House will be open for you to explore as usual, with some extra special twists!

Throughout the day, pop up talks and object interactions.

There is something special about walking through Jane Austen’s home in Regency dress.. on this special day, we do encourage you to wear your own historical dress if you have it, or to raid our extensive dressing up collection, if you so wish!

From 11am-3pm, visit our pop up Silhouette Salon to have your silhouette cut in a matter of moments by our resident artist, Silhouette Sarah, who will create intricate, one-off silhouette portraits of some lucky visitors in minutes, using nothing more than scissors & paper.

In the Historic Kitchen, try your hand at writing with a traditional pen and ink, and inscribe a birthday message to Jane in our special Birthday Book.

Finally, take home a unique memento to remember the day!
