Join art teachers Fergal Kilkenny (St. Louis Secondary School, Co.Louth, Ireland) and Eimear McKeown (New-Bridge Integrated College, Co. Down, Northern Ireland), to explore the art of lino print. In this drop-in workshop you will have the option of cutting your own silhouette of Jane Austen or using a precut lino block, depending on how much time you have.
Participants will also have the opportunity to explore colour and collage in this session and leave Jane Austen House with their own work of art.
This workshop is linked to the ‘Friendship Postcards: Jane Austen & Maria Edgeworth’ exhibition which is on display from 22nd January – 22nd February 2026. Fergal Kilkenny is the ‘Friendship Postcards’ project lead and Eimear McKeown is one of the participating teachers. Both workshop facilitators have experience in supporting cross border work on the island of Ireland through artmaking.
This event is a drop-in session, and is free with House entry. You will need either a ticket to visit the House, or an annual pass from a previous visit to attend this workshop.
All materials are provided, and the workshop will suit all ages.
You can drop in any time between 11:00am and 2.00pm
