In this exclusive session you will examine a range of objects from the museum collection, under the guidance of our Collections team.
This special event will explore objects from the museum collection relating to Emma, including a rare first edition of the novel, original illustrations and costume designs. Inspired by Emma’s attempts as an artist we’ll also examine some Austen family artworks, and inspired by Harriet’s book of riddles, we’ll share a collection of Austen family charades.
This event will be led by an expert on our collection who will guide you through the objects’ histories, their significance and how we care for them.
The group will be kept small, so there will be plenty of opportunities to see objects up close, ask questions and discuss as we go along.
