A perfect Mother’s Day treat, this special virtual tour will celebrate mothers in Jane Austen’s life and works, and explore the House in which Jane Austen spent the last eight years of her life.

As you discover the house Jane Austen knew and loved, you’ll learn about some of the best (and worst!) mothers in Jane Austen’s novels, from ‘nervous’ Mrs Bennet and ‘easy and indolent’ Mrs Price to ‘merry, fat’ Mrs Jennings, and Jane Austen’s own mother, Cassandra Leigh, an inspirational woman in her own right!

The tour will be led by an expert guide from Jane Austen’s House, who will use our beautiful virtual tour to show you around the House and outbuildings. From the comfort of your own home, you will enjoy a guided walk through of our virtual tour with lots of opportunities to chat and to ask questions.
