Dr. Gillian Dooley, President of the History Council of South Australia and Honorary Research Fellow of Flinders University, will give a presentation on Jane Austen’s last four songs and her musical relationships with the extended family. She has recently completed a project of cataloguing all the Austen family music books for Southampton University. After the presentation, we will move to the Drawing Room in small groups to hear the music Austen loved, played in situ, by Gillian and special guests, on our early 19th century square piano.
