Join us for a very special tour of Jane Austen’s House… To celebrate the 210th anniversary of the publication of Mansfield Park in 2024, this tour will follow the story of Jane Austen’s mature and serious third novel.
As part of a small group, you will enjoy an early morning tour of the House before it is open to the public. Walk in Jane Austen’s footsteps through rooms that she knew and loved, and discover objects from her life.
This event will be led by an expert on our collection, who will guide you through 200 years of Mansfield Park history and show you the rooms in which Jane Austen wrote the novel and from which it was published.
On this unique tour you will also discover objects that relate to Mansfield Park, including a rare first edition, and objects that inspired it, including the topaz crosses given to Jane and Cassandra by their brother Charles.
The group will be kept small, so there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discuss as we go along.
