Context: This collection of material relating to the Austen family was edited by Richard Arthur Austen-Leigh, a great-grandson of James Austen, and privately published in 1942. It consists of 10 chapters featuring papers relating to a particular topic, including genealogy and family letters, with a conversational introduction. It was reprinted in 1995 as part of a five-volume set collectively entitled Jane Austen: Family History.
